Poetry

I don't normally do poems, but I heard this on a film I watched the other week, and it bought me to tears:

I carry your heart with me

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in

my heart) I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud
of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)

It was 'In Her Shoes' with Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette - I'll try and remember it next week and bring it with me for you to borrow x

Wow - this is amazing, this poem was spoken at a funeral I went to a month ago, a young guy who had died from a herion overdose. His girlfriend got up and read it. I thought then it was a very moving and beautiful poem. I was then watching a movie a few weeks later (coincidentatly, also about a pair of herion junkies - Candy) and the poem was in the movie! I ended up bawling my eyes out (hormonal maybe? lol)but it is such lovely writing.

Thanks Ally
It's amazing how one persons words can move so many people - one poem can be used for funerals and weddings alike and still have a huge impact on the people present.
Maybe it was your hormones, but I blubbed like a good 'un when I saw/heard it, and I don't have the excuse you do LOL x
